Alastair Cook breaks Sachin Tendulkar's record, becomes youngest player to score 10,000 Test runs

London, May 30: England's Test captain Alastair Cook on Monday broke Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's record in Test.

The England opener has become the youngest batsman to score 10,000 Test runs, a record held by India's cricketing legend for more than a decade.

He also became first English cricketer to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket.

Before start of this series Cook, who turned 31 last Christmas, had scored 9,964 Test runs, including 28 centuries and 47 fifties.

Sachin was 31 years and 10-months-old when he achieved this landmark against Pakistan in Kolkata in March 2005.

Batting at No. 4 Sachin scored 52 in the both innings of the second Test of the series when Master Blaster touched yet another milestone.
