He acknowledged that they have previously won the title and mentioned how his former teammates Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo had spoken highly of the league.
Rayudu also highlighted some differences between playing in CPL compared to India. He mentioned that it's unusual for him to be in a dressing room without any Indian players but added that everyone has been welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere in CPL matches is unique with lots of music and fun, which is new to him but thoroughly enjoyable.
The former CSK batter added, "Pollard and Bravo used to talk a lot about the CPL. This is the first time I'm playing in a dressing room without any Indians, so that's a bit strange and it feels a bit different but they're really nice people. They have been very warm.
"Playing in the CPL is a very different experience as compared to playing in India. They have a lot of music and a lot of fun, it's all a bit new to me but I'm really enjoying it so far."
Reflecting on his cricket journey, Rayudu reminisced about his first tour with the Indian team in West Indies, which holds special memories for him. After recently announcing his retirement from international cricket, he now looks forward to focusing on public service while considering future opportunities related to cricket.
"My first tour with the Indian team was of the West Indies and even then it was a great experience. I have some fond memories. My journey started 30 years ago and it's been quite a journey with all the ups and downs. I am now enjoying the final phase of my career.
"My main aim is to do public service and I've been doing it for some while. As and when I get an opportunity to do something with cricket, I will think about it."
As CPL moves to St. Kitts from August 23 onwards, Rayudu will have a chance to play in front of his home fans. Cricket enthusiasts can catch all the thrilling action from CPL on FanCode.
