Arjun Tendulkar named in Mumbai's U-19 squad for one-day tournament

Mumbai, Sep 11: Batting legend and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun has been picked up in the Mumbai squad for an under-19 one-day tournament in Baroda.

Arjun has been named in the squad that will participate JY Lele All India Under-19 Invitational One Day Tournament. The tournament will take place from September 16 to September 23 in Gujarat.

Arjun has already been a part of Mumbai's U-14 and U-16 tournaments. He was also seen as a ball boy during his father's final Test match in 2013 at Wankhede Stadium.

The 17-year-old left-arm pacer was in the news when he injured England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow while bowling him in the nets ahead of a Test match against South Africa.

"Jonny Bairstow suffered an unexpected injury scare ahead of the first Test against South Africa at Lord's. The 27-year-old was pinned on the foot by a yorker from the teenage son of Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. Bairstow hobbled out of the nets after facing only one delivery from the 17-year-old Arjun Tendulkar," a report published in the "Daily Mail".

Arjun was seen bowling at England nets to the Indian women's cricket team ahead of their final against hosts England.
