Asia Cup 2023 was played between August 30 and September 17 in a hybrid model in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was held in ODI format as a precursor to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Team India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma defeated Sri Lanka in a one-sided final at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to lift their record eighth title. The marquee continental showpiece saw the participation of six countries (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal) battle for the coveted trophy.
