Gautam Gambhir and controversy is something which has become a synonymous thing. The former Indian batter has been involved in fiery spats, and verbal fights on the field and now he has involved himself off the field as well.
The Indian batter was captured showing middle finger to some fans after a distinct 'Kohli, Kohli' chant around him on Monday (September 4) at the Pallekele Stadium during India's match against Nepal.

For the uninitiated, Gambhir had a huge fight with Virat Kohli in the IPL 2023 during a match between Lucknow Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Although many believe the backlash from the fans irritated Gambhir and thus he resorted to that kind of reaction, Gambhir has explained a completely different version of the incident.
The former India batter was asked about the reason for him showing the middle finger and he has pinned it to a completely different matter. Gambhir says there was a few Pakistani fans who were continuously saying anti-Indian words like 'Hindustan Murdabad' and his reaction only came from that.
"What is shown on social media is not true, as people show what they want to show. The truth about the viral video is that if you say anti India slogan and speak about Kashmir, a person is not going to leave and smile and will react to that," Gambhir said to the media.
"There were two or three Pakistani supporters who were saying anti-Indian things and that is why I reacted to that as I can't stand anything against my country. So that was my natural reaction," he added.
The former Indian batter also says the supporters on the ground mustn't mix politics on stadiums and must concentrate on supporting their respective teams. He also urged both sets of supporters to support their team and not speak ill words to each other about their countries.
