Opting to bat first after losing the toss, Bangladesh posted a competitive 159/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Former captain Shakib Al Hasan played a pivotal role with an unbeaten 64, stabilising the innings amidst falling wickets.

Despite an early loss of captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das, who was brilliantly caught by Sybrand Engelbrecht, Shakib held firm. Contributions from Mahmudullah (27) and Jaker Ali (15*) added valuable runs towards the end.

The Netherlands, in response, started cautiously but failed to build any significant partnerships. Vikramjit Singh (37) and Sybrand Engelbrecht (30) tried to keep the chase alive but were undone by Bangladesh's disciplined bowling.

The standout performer was 21-year-old leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who took three crucial wickets for just 28 runs, including the pivotal dismissals of Engelbrecht and Bas de Leede. Taskin Ahmed also played a key role, claiming two wickets and maintaining pressure throughout his spells.

Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan kept things tight in the middle overs, with Mustafizur especially economical, conceding only 12 runs in his four overs. As the required run rate escalated, the Netherlands crumbled, finishing at 134/8, 25 runs short of the target. Despite some late resistance, the Dutch batsmen couldn't cope with the disciplined attack of the Bangladeshi bowlers.

The win boosts Bangladesh's chances of progressing to the Super 8 stage of the tournament, while the Netherlands face an uphill battle to keep their campaign alive. With this performance, Bangladesh has showcased their balanced team effort, combining solid batting with effective bowling.
