The BCCI annual contracts for the 2023-24 season have created a whirlwind of emotions across the country.
A total of 30 players have already been included in the central contract by BCCI, with two more names just a step away from earning themselves a Grade C contract.

The top four of the Indian cricket team have retained their A+ status. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have the most exclusive deal from BCCI, with an annual package of Rs 7 crore.
Although they have barely retained their place, we have witnessed a few gainers and losers from this latest announcement. A few players have emerged into the contract system, while a few have been demoted or have found themselves entirely ousted from the contract list.
Ten new players have been handed a new contract by BCCI. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar, Avesh Khan and Jitesh Sharma have all received new contracts.
Although the other eight find themselves in Grade C, Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a gigantic leap to a Grade B contract, which guarantees him an earning of Rs 3 crore from the board.
Kuldeep Yadav has taken a leap from a Grade C to Grade B contract for this season. The trio of Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul have also taken a leap from Grade B to Grade A contracts this season. Grade A contract means a net earning of Rs 5 crore per annum for a senior men's player of the Indian cricket team.

A few big names of Indian cricket have found themselves out of the contract list. Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan both have been left out, while stars like Yuzvendra Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav are also without an annual contract.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer have been hit the hardest, with the duo now completely omitted from their Grade B contracts last year.
