Ben Stokes, moved from Christchurch to England in his childhood, was hit for four sixes by Carlos Brathwaite in the final over of the ICC World T20 title game. This cost England their second WT20 title.

Later during the post match presentation, England skipper Eoin Morgan admitted that the English all-rounder was devasted for his spell in the last over.

Asked how is Stokes coping with the disappointment, Morgan replied, "It's quite simple from my point of view. He is going to be devastated. It'll take its toll in the next couple of days. but we share the pain, we share the success. You could say what you like to him at the moment but he's probably not hearing it."

As per a ZeeNews report, Stokes' mother Deborah called the radio station to take issue with her son's treatment and found herself talking to Heath, unaware she was on air.

She subsequently realised she had been broadcast live and complained to station owner NZME, resulting in Heath and Wells being suspended for a day.

The accused have been suitably reprimanded, and were put off-air, said radio channel's programme director.
