Board happy with MS Dhoni's captaincy: Sandeep Patil

Bengaluru, Sep 20: Rubbishing rumours emerging from some quarters about MS Dhoni's ouster from captaincy in the ODIs, chief national selector Sandeep Patil on Sunday said the board is happy with him.

"We have not discussed anything about captaincy of ODIs. We are very happy in the manner Dhoni has led the side and we have total backing for Dhoni during the upcoming series," Patil told media persons.

"We have always discussed the forthcoming World T20. We have also discussed the possibilities and the performances of players and who all will be useful," he further added.

Speculations were rife that Virat Kohli could be given the responsibility of leading Team India in limited format, as India is set to clash with South Africa in 3 T20s, 5 ODIs and 4 Tests.

However after this clarification from Patil, it would be fair to assume that Dhoni enjoys full support of the selectors as well as the board.
