Brendan Taylor apologises after tweet on MS Dhoni

New Delhi, Oct 17: Former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor on Monday (October 17) apologised following his tweet over India's limited overs' skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

As India played their first one-day international (ODI) match under the leadership of MS Dhoni against New Zealand at Dharamsala, Zimbabwe all-rounder took to Twitter to ask if Dhoni had retired from Test cricket.

Taylor, who is holidaying with his family in South Africa, confused India's 1st ODI against New Zealand with a Test match, hence such a tweet.

The wicket-keeper batsman quickly realised his folly and apologised for his goof-up.

This what Taylor wrote on his Twitter handle:

Taylor has played 23 Test and 167 ODIs for Zimbabwe and accumulated 1493 and 5258 runs, respectively. He has slammed 4 centuries in Tests while 8 tons in ODIs.

India's limited over's skipper MS Dhoni retired from Test cricket in December 2014 during India's tour of Australia. Dhoni played 90 Tests for India before hanging up his boots from the longer format of cricket.

India on October 16 registered a convincing win by 6 wickets over New Zealand after a collective bowling effort in the first ODI.

After bowling out New Zealand for 190 in 43.5 overs, India reached the target in a mere 33.1 overs in a match that turned out to be thoroughly one-sided. India have now taken a 1-0 lead over Black Caps.
