The players' draft for the forthcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 has been announced on Friday (June 30). Top T20 players from West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and England have been picked up by the six franchises for the new season, starting August 16.

Four teams have one more overseas player they can sign with these names to be announced before the tournament gets underway in the Caribbean. The 2023 tournament will feature matches in Saint Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana with the final taking place at the National Stadium, Providence on September 24.

Some of the biggest T20 freelancers in the world like Imran Tahir, Maheesh Theekshana, Chris Green, Roelof Van der Merwe, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rilee Rossouw, Faf du Plessis, Sikandar Raza, Imad Wasim, Dasun Shanaka, Martin Guptill, Mohammad Amir and Naveen ul Haq are amongst the stars who will be participating in the tournament this year.

The presence of such big T20 specialists alongside international and domestic Caribbean players will in CPL 2023 will ensure the fans can expect high-octane cricket in front of vibrant crowds.

The six teams in the CPL 2023 are as follows, Barbados Royals, Guayana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kits & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders.
