Cricketer Praveen Kumar joins Samajwadi Party in UP

Lucknow, Sep 11: Senior India cricketer Praveen Kumar is all set to start another innings after the pacer joined Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, media reports claimed on Sunday (Sep 11).

The 29-year-old right-hand medium-pacer from Meerut joined the ruling party in presence of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.

Kumar was last seen in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 when he played for Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions.

Praveen Kumar has played six Tests and 68 ODIs for India and grabbed 27 and 77 wickets, respectively.

Kumar has joined the UP-ruled political party ahead of upcoming Assembly Elections in UP.
