Mustafizur Rahman starred in Chennai Super Kings' terrific win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 opener on Friday (March 22).
The Bangladeshi pacer was instrumental with the ball as CSK secured an easy victory by 6 wickets over RCB at the Chepauk, thus extending their winning run over Virat Kohli's side in Chennai to eight games.

Mustafizur, who was a late buy for CSK in the IPL 2024 auction, bowled brilliantly and changed the course of the match. After a superb RCB start, he picked up their captain Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar in his very first over. Then Mistafizur picked up two more in Virat Kohli and Cameron Green, thus completing his four wickets within 10 balls.
His stellar figures wrote 4 for 29 in four overs, the best bowling figure by him in the IPL. Deservedly, the Bangladeshi pacer was awarded the Player of the Match for his excellent performance.
But as the player collected his award and the prize money, post-match presenter Ravi Shastri announced 'that's it from the presentation party', ending the ceremony abruptly. Generally, the Player of the Match talks after receiving the award, but this was not the case, which made the fans guessing.
Mustafizur Rahman didn't talk in the post-match presentation after getting his Player of the Match award. The Chennai Super Kings player bowled superbly, but the possible reason he didn't talk because Rahman can only speak Bengali.
In the CSK squad, no one speaks Bengali while Ravi Shastri, the presenter can't also speak the language. As Rahman is not that fluent in either English or Hindi, the post-match chat was skipped. MS Dhoni, the former CSK captain can understand Bengali but he is not fluent in speaking, hence probably he couldn't help Mustafizur as a Translator either.
