Mustafizur Rahman IPL Profile

Mustafizur Rahman is a Bangladeshi international cricketer, who was born on September 6, 1995, in Satkhira, Bangladesh. He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler and is also known as 'Fizz' among his teammates due to his variations. Mustafizur grabbed attention with his bowling skills at a very young age. The selectors quickly acknowledged his talent, and he became a part of Bangladesh's Under-19 team for the 2014 World Cup. 

In the event, he took a total of eight wickets, following which he was picked for Bangladesh A's series to West Indies. Due to his excellent bowling in domestic cricket, he was able to earn a spot in the national team for the 2015 international tournament. 

The pacer made an impressive T20I debut against Pakistan on April 2015 and took the wickets of Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez. The same year in June, Mustafizur played his first ODI match against India. He became the second bowler in ODI history after Zimbabwe's Brian Vitori picked up two five-wicket hauls in his first two matches. Notably, he is the only cricketer to have won the Man of the Match awards on both ODI and Test debut.

At the age of 21, the fast bowler became a part of the IPL 2016 season after Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him at the auction. In his first IPL season, Mustafizur grabbed worldwide attention by picking 17 wickets in 16 games and taking the team to the 2016 IPL title. 

Also, Mustafizur played for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL from 2018 to 2021 and is part of Delhi Capitals since 2022. Besides IPL, he is an active player in BPL, NatWest T20 Blast, and Pakistan Super League.

Mustafizur got into an on-field collision with MS Dhoni during his debut ODI against India in 2015 which penalised him and Dhoni 50% and 75% of their match fees respectively.
