CSK vs RCB: Twitter hails Mustafizur Rahman for taking four wickets in 10 balls, trolls RCB mercilessly

CSK vs RCB: Mustafizur Rahman made his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) debut at the Chepauk on Friday (March 22) in style by picking four big Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wickets from his first 10 deliveries.

The left-arm Bangladesh pacer, who was bought by CSK for Rs 2 crore at the IPL 2024 auction, came to bowl in the fifth over after RCB opted to bat first. He picked the wicket of captain Faf du Plessis (35) with a slower cutter on the third delivery of the over.

On the final delivery of the same over, Mustafizur picked the wicket of Rajat Patidar, who departed for a three-ball duck. The wobble-seam delivery on a good length generated an outside edge which landed into the gloves of MS Dhoni.

Mustafizur Rahman was surprisingly removed from the attack after his first over and introduced back in the 12th over. The 28-year-old responded with two more wickets from the first four balls, making it four wickets in 10 balls for the Satkhira-born star.

He picked the wicket of Virat Kohli (21) by taking off the pace from the delivery on the second ball of the over. The pull from Kohli was caught by Ajinkya Rahane first. However, he lobbed it to debutant Rachin Ravindra before sliding into the boundary rope. A delivery later, he clean bowled Cameron Green (18), the RCB debutant.

Twitter abuzz watching Mustafizur Rahman make a sensational debut for CSK after picking just one wicket from two matches in IPL 2023 for Delhi Capitals. He picked eight wickets from as many matches in IPL 2024. Fans also took the opportunity to troll RCB.

Mustafizur Rahman finished with figures of 4/29 in four overs. Here's how Twitter (now X) reacted to the spell from the Bangladesh international.

RCB bounced back from 78/5 in 114 overs to 173/6 after crucial knocks from Anuj Rawat (48 off 25), and Dinesh Karthik (38* off 26). They partnered for 95 runs off just 50 balls.
