DC vs KKR IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders batters hailed on Twitter for posting mammoth 272 against Delhi Capitals

Kolkata Knight Riders put up the 2nd highest total in IPL history as they posted a mammoth 272 runs while batting against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (April 3).

Batting first, the Knight Riders amassed a huge total of 272 for 7, driven by some excellent batting. Sunil Narine was the star of the show with 85 runs off just 39 balls. The KKR opener hit 7 fours and 7 sixes in his fantastic knock.

KKR's youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played a brilliant knock of 54 runs in just 27 balls on his maiden IPL batting inning. Apart from them, Andre Russell (41 off 19 balls), Rinku Singh (26 off 8 balls) and Shreyas Iyer (18 off 11 balls) played their part as KKR conjured up the gigantic total.

The Delhi Capitals bowlers were decimated across the park. A total of 22 fours and 18 sixes were hit by Sunil Narine and Co. India batter Surya Kumar Yadav was in awe of the magnificent batting by Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Former SRH coach Tom Moody also hailed the KKR youngster and found a resemblance to Shubman Gill in him.

"Another exciting player unearthed, Angkrish Raghuvanshi looks very organised. Fair to say there's a bit of Shubman Gill in his game!," Moody wrote.

Fans hailed the KKR players for their outstanding batting. It was truly an exhibition of power hitting by the Knight Riders batters.

This fan credited Gautam Gambhir for spotting Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The 18-year-old only cost KKR Rs 20 lakh in the auction.

KKR now hold the record of scoring the 2nd highest total in IPL and bowling out a team with the lowest total.
