Dhoni is Captain Cool, Virat is aggressive, don't compare them: McGrath

New Delhi, Sept 1: At a time when comparison between India's most successful skipper MS Dhoni and Test skipper Virat Kohli is on a high, legendary Australian pacer Glenn McGrath has said it's too early to compare them for they both have different personalities.

In an interview to India Today, the Australian great said MS Dhoni naturally calm while Virat's natural instict is being aggressive.

The 46-year-old said, "MS and Virat Kohli are completely different personalities on the field. Dhoni doesn't seemed to be fazed by anything, he is Mr. Cool, Calm and Collected. Virat on the other hand has a different attitude, he's more fired up when batting and he's more in-you-face."

"Virat is a very confident player and is a class player without a doubt and has that attitude, which I quite like. But they are different personalities, Dhoni commands respect and has done an incredible job leading the side, Virat is a completely different leader," McGrath, who was popularly known as 'Pigeon', added further.

Kohli has took over the reigns of India's Test team after MS Dhoni retired and has led the Indian side from the front eversince. He has led India to a historic series win against Sri Lanka in their own backyard and recently became first ever Indian skipper to have registered two Test wins in West Indies during a single tour along with claiming the series.

Kohli's character as a captain as well as a batsman will be put to test during upcoming Test series' against New Zealand, Australia and England.

Talking about comparison between Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli McGrath said Tendulkar is one of the greatest and Kohli has all the potential to become one but it's too early to compare them.

"Sachin is one of the greatest batsmen of all time, there's no doubt about that. A lot of people are comparing Virat with Sachin already. I think it's a little too soon to be doing that, you know Virat has got huge potential and I think by the end of his career he'll be recognised as one of the greats," he further added.
