The first 6 overs made the difference - There was rain leading up to the game and conditions were muggy, but actually the ball gripped a bit more than we have seen. The Chepauk spinners were prolific from the start and Ashwanth Valthapa starred with a couple of big wickets. Abhishek Tanwar also picked up two wickets as the others bowled around them. As for Dindigul Dragons, they endured a really tough 11-12 overs first up and were reeling at 67/6. They were compelled to use the Impact Sub early and Mohit Mittan came in and added a valuable stand of 36 runs alongside skipper Baba Indrajith. They have managed to hobble to 126 and will need a special performance in the field to defend this one. Stay tuned as the run chase is up next.

Advantage Chepauk at the break - A fairly decent end to the innings from Dindigul Dragons, but they have ended up with a below-par total here. The Powerplay was where they lost the plot and a late surge by the lower middle order doesn't seem to be enough to call it a true comeback. Chepauk Super Gillies will be ecstatic with that bowling performance and will be confident of getting their first win of the season from here.

Player of the Match - No prizes for guessing, as the skipper of Chepauk, Narayan Jagadeesan, gets the award for his match-winning and unbeaten knock of 90 off just 58 balls. Jagadeesan says that they didn't have a preconceived plan of bowling slower, but after looking at the wicket, they decided to bowl a lot of spin. On the record of surpassing the 2500-run mark, he says that he isn't bothered by records and it is all about making an impact. Goes on to add that the wicket was a bit tricky, so he was clear in his mind to take things a bit deep and ends by saying that there's always going to be pressure on you to perform, so you have to take it as it is and play your brand of cricket.

The Jagadeesan show - 131 on the board for Chepauk in the end, and 90 of those were scored by skipper Narayan Jagadeesan, showcasing just how prolific he was in this chase. Chasing a small target, Chepauk didn't quite get out of the blocks quickly and were 63/3 after 10 overs. Slowly but surely, Jagadeesan came into full flow and ended things in a canter with some eye-catching shots. As for Dindigul, their spinners too bowled well, and the duo of BK Kishore and Nirankar Sharma made sure that the opposition batters had to earn their runs. But once they were bowled out, the wheels came off as Sandeep Warrier and Mohit Mittan were put to the sword and Dindigul have now lost two on the trot.

Four-time champions on the board - It has taken them three games, but Chepauk Super Gillies do finally have their win, and this has been a very dominant performance from them against last season's runners-up. Dindigul Dragons did put up a decent fight with the ball, but the total on the board was a small one and it was wiped off without much of a fuss.
