However, the breakthrough came when Charlie Dean cleaned up Fraser in the fourth over, slowing down the Scots' early momentum.

But if Scotland thought they had England on the ropes, they were mistaken. Sophia Dunkley led a furious counterattack with a blazing 57, well-supported by Alice Capsey’s brisk 40. Just when Scotland dragged themselves back into the contest during the middle overs, Freya Kemp and Dani Gibson launched an absolute assault at the death. They plundered a staggering 59 runs in the final three overs, punishing Scotland's fielding lapses to lift England to a massive 200/5.
