Pakistan's World Cup 2023 debacle has already created an ocean of thoughts among their various ex-players and personnel accountable at the top of Pakistan cricket.
The underwhelming group stage exit of the Pakistan team has been a huge blow, which may have damaging ramifications for people in and around the Pakistan Cricket team.

On Tuesday (November 14), the PCB interim chairman Zaka Ashraf met with three ex-Pakistan players. There is supposed to be a meeting between Ashraf, along with Mickey Arthur and Babar Azam on Wednesday to dissect the World Cup horror show.
No Pakistan players are currently under PCB's payroll who have the authority to take part in internal meetings. Following Inzamam-ul-Haq's stepping down as Pakistan's Chief Selector, Misbah-ul-Haq is the solitary former player who is in a formal PCB position as he heads the National Technical Committee.
Former spinner Tauseef Ahmed was also an option to join Ashraf in Wednesday's meeting, but reports have emerged that PCB has already dissolved the entire interim selection committee.
Amid this, three former Pakistan players, namely Younis Khan, Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanvir had a meeting with Zaka Ashraf on Tuesday. PCB has initiated planning for the roadmap till the 2025 Champions Trophy, but their upcoming tour in Australia is the immediate assignment, where they play three Test matches.
And reports say that the Pakistan players have advised the PCB chief to not make wholesale changes ahead of the Australia tour.
It is also being decided with not many ODI assignments in the upcoming 12 months, the Pakistan team is going to emphasize more on T20Is and Test cricket. If PCB listens to the ex-players, we may see Babar Azam keeping his captaincy at least till the Australia tour, whereas the possibility of Younis Khan being given a role in youth development is also floating around.
According to Dawn, PCB is set to offer Mickey Arthur a full time Pakistan role, thus ending his part-time stint with English county team Derbyshire. In terms of the other existing coaching staff, Morne Morkel has already resigned, but the fate of the remaining set of foreign coaches is still an undecided matter.
