Guess what scares Viv Richards these days? Terrorism!

Bengaluru, July 27: West Indian batting legend Sir Vivian Richards is "scared" not with cricketing matters but due to the amount of terror attacks that have shook the world in recent times.

80 dead in Nice attack

Richards, the man who brought fear among opposition bowlers when he wielded the willow on a cricket field, has questioned the world leaders as to why they have not been able to stop these "inhuman" attacks. (Richards' son gifts Kohli a painting)

Vivian Richards is worried about the terror attacks

"This is not the world I grew up in. I've travelled the world over many times but now, if I have to head for New Delhi or Mumbai, I'd be scared," the former West Indian captain told "The Telegraph" newspaper, in Antigua. (Richards praises Kohli for his 'classy' 200)

"Scared whether I'd reach my destination or some co-passenger on some flight will whip out a pistol and then... I hate saying this, but it's a risk each time you board a flight...

"You don't know what may happen... Today, the innocents are paying for the guilty. There's no better way to describe what is going on...," the 64-year-old added.

Richards, who played 121 Tests and 187 One Day Internationals, is part of the TV commentary panel for the West Indies-India Test series. He did commentary for the 1st Test which India won by an innings and 92 runs at the stadium named after him.

According to Richards, it is "mighty terrifying" to hear about terror attacks in the recent past in Belgium, France, Bangladesh and other places.

He said, "You're not safe in an airport (Brussels), you can't go to the French Riveria, you're not safe in a restaurant (Dhaka), you can't go to a mall in Munich...

"Shot at an airport, mowed down on the Riviera, gunned down while having pasta... What is this? I still can't imagine how that insane person could run over even infants in strollers (in Nice)...

"Inhuman, inhuman... Can't imagine that the shooter in Munich was a teenager. An 18-year-old killing people, when he should be playing soccer or cricket or basketball... It's mighty terrifying."

Richards said the citizens of the world deserved justice and questioned the world leaders.

"Where next? Aren't the world's leaders asking themselves that? Don't we, the citizens of this planet, deserve justice? Tell me, brother.

"While I don't have a solution, meet certain forces half-way, those forces which have no business being around, but still are a frightening reality."
