Dhoni and the McCullum had shared the dressing room for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings, now facing a suspension of 2 years.
"I have not seen his knock but I think I've seen enough of his knocks. He's a fantastic cricketer. He tries to entertain everyone from the very first ball. Hope he does well after quitting the game. I was fortunate to share the dressing room with him," Dhoni said.

McCullum has scored 2080 runs in the IPL in 76 matches he has played. The New Zealand batter was the first to have scored the first century of the cash rich league in its inaugural game in 2008, for Kolkata Knight Riders. Baz has slammed 2 centuries and 10 half centuries in his IPL career so far.
Meanwhile, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan too congratulated McCullum for achieving such a feat.
"I would like to congratulate McCullum for getting the fastest hundred in Test matches. I did not get to see the knock but I read about it. He backs himself. It's up to an individual and how much he believes in himself," Shikhar said.
