Inzamam-ul-Haq slams Anderson:

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq to slammed Anderson for his observation on Virat Kohli and found the pacer's remarks as surprising.

"It is surprising to me that Anderson should question Kohli's runs and ability because I haven't seen him take too many wickets in India," Inzamam told Geo Super sports channel.

"Does Anderson mean to say that if you get runs in England you get some sort of certificate that makes you a quality batsman? Don't the English and Australian players struggle when they play in the sub-continent? Does that mean they are bad players or weak teams. To me it does not matter where you get runs because in Test matches runs are runs," the Pakistan selector added.

What did Anderson say about Kohli?

"I'm not sure he's (Kohli) changed. I just think any technical deficiencies he's got aren't in play out here. The wickets just take that out of the equation. There's not that pace in the wicket to get the nicks, like we did against him in England - with a bit more movement.

"When that's not there, he's very much suited to playing in these conditions. He's a very good player of spin - and if you're not bang on the money and don't take your chances, he'll punish you," Anderson, England's leading Test wicket-taker, had said.

Kohli, though, dicided not to comment upon Anderson's remarks. The Indian skipper chose not to point out technical flaws in rival batsmen and said India were focused on their strengths.

India on Monday (Dec 12) defeated England by an innings and 36 runs to claim the 5-match rubber 3-0 with one game remaining.
