Dubai, Jan 21: The DP World ILT20 Season 2 kicked off with a bang as the Gulf Giants secured a convincing 31-run victory against the Sharjah Warriors at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The inaugural match not only showcased thrilling cricket but also garnered praise from former Indian cricketer and renowned off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who serves as an ambassador and commentator for the league.

Expressing his delight at being associated with the DP World ILT20, Harbhajan Singh commended the league's positive impact on the UAE cricket ecosystem. On a lighter note, when asked about the possibility of him playing in the tournament, the 'Turbanator' quipped, "While I do compete and enjoy playing in some leagues, I would have to put in a lot of work before I play in the DP World ILT20. It is a very competitive league, with some of the finest players around the world who are in their prime. So, I would definitely have to work on my fitness even before considering such a thing."
