Harbhajan Singh haunts me in my dreams: Ricky Ponting

New Delhi, Sept 6: Australian batting legend and former captain, Ricky Ponting, has confessed that his arch nemesis Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, still haunts him in nightmares.

Ponting, the two time World Cup winning captain, told ANI, "My arch nemesis when I was playing against India was Harbhajan Singh, I still get nightmares about him."

Ponting is in India to promote his home state of Tasmania as its brand ambassador. Earlier, former Australian spin legend Shane Warne said something for Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The game has witnessed one of the most bitter on field rivalries between Harbhajan Singh and Ricky Ponting. 'The Turbanator' has always troubled the Australian batter in Test cricket. Harbhajan has dismissed Ponting on 10 occasions in 14 Tests.

The Indian off-spinner has dismissed Ponting on three occasions in ODIs.

Who would have forgotten the sight when a young Harbhajan got Ponting stumped during an ODI match in 1998. Miffed with a youngster's aggression the Australian even lost his cool.

Harbhajan and Ponting have had a history of exchanging heated conversations and never missed a chance of exchanging verbal volleys against each other. But at the same time Harbhajan too has rated Ponting as one of the top five batsmen he has bowled to.

Ponting is regarded as the best Australian batsman of his generation. He scored 13,378 runs in 168 Tests and has 41 centuries and amassed 62 fifties.

But his performance against India, in Tests, has always been disappointing and the credit for same widely goes to the 'Turbanator'.

The right-handed batsman has a Test batting average of 51.85 but his average against India is a paltry 26.48.

Ponting has scored just 662 runs comprising just one century in 25 innings against India.
