Team India are 2nd in the ICC Test Rankings while West Indies is languishing at 8th position in the table i.e. below every major Test playing nation. Windies are only ranked above Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
History beckons Virat Kohli
Team India under the leadership of aggressive skipper, Virat Kohli, would be eager to make history. India have never won more than one Test match on West Indies tour. West Indies might have been the same formidable side they once used to be till 90's still no Indian side has been able to win more than one Test in the Caribbean. (Excited to work with Kohli, says Kumble)
Ever since India's maiden tour of West Indies in 1952/53, the visitors have never been able to win more than one Test match in the West Indies. (Want to make Team India win consistently in overseas Tests: Kumble)
MS Dhoni led India to a 1-0 win in four-match series in 2011, so did Rahul Dravid in 2006.
Under Sourav Ganguly's leadership India lost the five-match series 2-1, in 2002.
When Sachin Tendulkar led India on the Caribbean tour, the Indians fought hard against a strong home side in 1996, but lost the five-match series 1-0.
Thus, under the leadership of an aggressive Kohli fans hope India would not only win the Test series but also improve their win margin against Windies.
