Dubai, Jan 5: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday (January 5) unveiled the final list of exceptional performers shortlisted in three categories for the ICC Awards 2023.
The list includes ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year, the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, and the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year.

With the announcement of the last set of categories from the global cricket body, cricket enthusiasts worldwide can now cast their votes for their preferred cricketers from 2023 across nine ICC Awards categories.
In the running for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, Australia and India each have two candidates, reflecting their encounters in the ICC World Test Championship Final and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Final.
Pat Cummins, Australia's captain, secured victories in both events and is nominated for the top men's category after an outstanding year, displaying excellent leadership and taking 59 wickets in Tests and ODIs.
Travis Head, a key figure in Australia's triumphs in the WTC Final and ODI World Cup titular clash, contributed significantly with both bat and ball, accumulating nearly 1700 runs and claiming crucial wickets.
India's Virat Kohli, vying for his third Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, achieved remarkable milestones in 2023, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar with his 50th ODI century and earning the Player of the Tournament award in CWC23. Ravindra Jadeja, known for his all-around skills, completes the lineup with 66 wickets and 613 runs, playing a pivotal role in India's success.
The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy shortlist includes Nat Sciver-Brunt, the 2022 winner, who continued her dominance with nine wickets and 894 runs in 2023. Chamari Athapaththu, nominated in three categories, showcased brilliance as Sri Lanka's skipper, scoring 885 runs in ODIs and T20Is.
Ashleigh Gardner, leading in women's international wickets, earned recognition for her all-round brilliance, while Beth Mooney stands out for her prolific run-scoring, including a crucial innings in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final.
The ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year contenders include Usman Khawaja, the leading run-scorer in the longest format with 1210 runs, and Travis Head, who played a pivotal role in the WTC Final win over India. R Ashwin, the top-ranked Test bowler, and Joe Root, a key player in England's Test resurgence, are also nominated.
The fan voting results will be combined with selections made by the ICC Voting Academy to determine the winners in each category. In addition to individual awards, the ICC Awards 2023 will include categories such as ICC Men's and Women's Associate Cricketers of the Year, ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, ICC Umpire of the Year, and five ICC Teams of the Year. The winners will be announced later in January 2024.
