ICC Rankings: Ravi Bishnoi Becomes No.1 Ranked T20I Bowler; Suryakumar Yadav Remains Numero Uno In Batting

Dubai, Dec 6: Young India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi on Wednesday (December 6) became the number-one ranked T20I batter in the latest ICC Rankings on the back of his player of the series-winning performance in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against Australia.

The 23-year-old was Team India's go-to bowler against Australia as he picked up nine wickets from five games. Bishnoi, who is on 699 rating points, has jumped five places to displace Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (692) from the top slot.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav - who was appointed India's captain in the series against the Aussies and lead team India to a 4-1 win - continued his dominance in the batter's rankings in the T20Is. Yadav - who scored 144 runs in five matches - was the second-highest run-scorer in the bilateral series.

Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and England's Adil Rashid, who both have 679 points, are in joint third. While Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana finds himself at the fifth spot with 677 points. Bishnoi is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 in the shortest format even as Axar Patel climbed nine spots to be 18th.

India opener Ruturaj Gaikwad - who was the leading run-scorer in the series with 223 runs in 5 games - dropped a place to be seventh. Gaikwad - the right-handed batter from Maharashtra - even slammed a ton in the series but it ended in a losing cause.

Hardik Pandya - who has been leading Team India in the T20Is as regular captain Rohit Sharma preferred staying away from the format - retained the third spot in the all-rounders' list, despite missing the series against Australia due to injury.
