IND vs AUS 4th Test Day 2: Ashwin strikes back for India but Khawaja continues merry ride

IND vs AUS 4th Test: Ashwin strikes back for India but Khawaja continues merry ride - How did Ashwin get India back in the match? Usman Khawaja to continue his onslaught?

Ind vs Aus

Ravichandran Ashwin has rallied India back in the 4th Test with his off-spin as Australia finished the second session at 409/7 on Day 2.

After a strong start in the first session, the visitors were threatening to pull game further away from India, but the spinmaster Ravichandran Ashwin weaved his magic to bring India back into the tie.

In a topsy-turvy second session, Australia managed only 62 runs while India have picked up 3 crucial wickets.

Ravi Ashwin was the main orchestrator for the hosts as he picked up all three wickets in the session. Cameron Green was his first victim as the all-rounder departed after a fantastic knock of 114. Ashwin managed to get Green and break a crucial partnership to taste the first success of the day for India.

And after that, it was two quick wickets as Alex Carey (0) and Mitchell Starc (6) went back to the hut in quick succession. Carey's off-form with the bat continues as the thick outside edge was gobbled by Axar Patel at the short third-man. Starc also fell victim to a sharp catch by Shreyas Iyer.

But Usman Khawaja is still at the crease as he continues to frustrate the Indian bowlers. Khawaja has grown in strength and became the first Australian in more than 20 years to achieve unique record in the match as he is still unbeaten at 180 and just 20 runs away from his maiden double century.

Nathan Lyon is at the crease with Khawaja and has played a perfect role of hanging around so far, scoring 6 off 36 balls.
