Australia have amassed a huge total in the 4th Test as the visitors racked up 480 runs in the first innings. In reply, India are 36/0 at the end of the second day's play at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
After a productive first day, the Aussies put up a decent display with the bat again on Friday. Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green continued their merry way with the bat and scored the bulk of the runs in the first session as the Indian bowlers were left baffled. Green completed his maiden Test century while Khawaja scored his first hundred in India, adding his name to a unique list of record by the Aussie batters against India in Tests.
Cameron Green (114) was the first one to depart as Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the first wicket on the day for India. The veteran off-spinner picked three quick wickets to give India a sniff of a comeback, but Khawaja imposed himself over the Indian bowlers as he went on to score 180 runs.

Even after the dismissal of Khawaja, it was the turn for Todd Murphy (41 off 61 balls) and Nathan Lyon (34 off 96 balls) to add some crucial runs as they added 70 valuable runs in their 9th wicket partnership. Australia were finally dismissed at 480, which is the highest score in this Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Ashwin was the only bright spark for India as he picked up six wickets. Ashwin finished off with a stellar figure of 6/91 and has now overtaken Ravindra Jadeja (22) as the highest wicket-taker in the Border Gavaskar Trophy this year with 24 scalps to his name.

India have made a decent start as they are 36/0 at the end of the day's play. Both Shubman Gill (18*) and Rohit Sharma (17*) have made positive starts as the hosts trail by 444 runs going into the 3rd day of the match.
