IND vs AUS, T20 World Cup: 'A True Champion, Legacy Maker' - How Ex-Cricketers and Fans reacted to Rohit Sharma's Batting Blitzkrieg

India captain Rohit Sharma showcased a batting masterclass against Australia in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match on Monday (June 24).

Rohit Sharma was on fire as India was put to bat first by Australia captain Mitchell Marsh. He took apart the Aussie attack and scored 92 runs off just 41 balls in his scintillating knock.

Rohit hit Mitchell Starc for 29 runs in an over as the India captain smashed the Aussie pacer for four sixes in an over. He went on take on the other bowlers and completed his fifty in just 19 balls. Rohit also became the first Player to hit 200 Sixes in T20Is as he now has 203 sixes to his name.

The other batters had to settle into the pitch but Rohit was playing a different game altogether. The India captain continued is blitzkrieg throughout his stay but missed out a much-deserved century as Mitchell Starc eventually got the wicket of the veteran batter.

Nevertheless, the fans hailed the star batter for his elite display of hitting along with the ex-players and experts, who heaped praises on the player.

"Brilliant inning by Rohit Sharma!! Led from the front and gave the team the start they needed after losing Kohli early on," former India batter Robin Uthappa wrote on X.

Rohit's India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin was gutted that the India batter couldn't get to his century.

Commentator and Cricket Expert Harsha Bhogle was also in awe of Rohit's batting against Australia.

"What joy to see an innings like that from Rohit Sharma. He said he wants his team to play a certain kind of cricket and he has led by example," Bhogle wrote on X.

An user spoke about the legacy of Rohit Sharma and it has to be considered. The India captain has been a revelation with his aggression of late and that legacy will definitely live beyond his cricketing career.

Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar also was all in praises for Rohit Sharma's leadership and selflessness.

"What is Rohit Sharma's greatest quality?Sure, there is that ability to play the big shots effortlessly, but above all, what I really admire is his selflessness as top order batter & leader," he wrote.
