IND vs ENG: 'Get an Ambulance' - Sunil Gavaskar makes cheeky comment on Rishabh Pant again!!

By MyKhel Staff

Sunil Gavaskar has caught the attention after another remark on Rishabh Pant on air, amid the 1st Test between India and England on Saturday (June 21).

Rishabh Pant delivered a breathtaking performance on Day 2 of the first Test against England, underlining his status as India's finest wicketkeeper-batter in the longest format. In a fearless display of aggressive intent, Pant hammered a scintillating 134, further solidifying his legacy.

Taking the attack to the English bowlers, Pant batted with his trademark audacity - mixing innovation with calculated aggression. He brought up his century in trademark style, launching a spectacular one-handed six off Shoaib Bashir, a moment that perfectly encapsulated his flair and confidence.

With this knock, Pant registered his seventh Test hundred - the most by an Indian designated wicketkeeper - overtaking MS Dhoni's previous mark of six. It also reinforced his dominance overseas, where he now has more centuries than any other Indian gloveman.

Pant's innings was a blend of explosive strokeplay and sharp cricketing instinct. From daring paddles to authoritative charges down the track, and even dispensing advice to teammates mid-innings, he was in complete command. His animated celebration, including a somersault after the one-handed six, added drama to a knock that was already destined to be remembered.

Dismissed for 134, Pant's innings included 12 boundaries and six sixes - a timely reminder of his unmatched ability to change the course of a game in a single session.

But the former India player Sunil Gavaskar, who is on commentary duty in England, made a remark after Pant's somersault celebration. While on air, Gavaskar mentioned to keep an ambulance ready if the player's exuberance goes wrong.

"After that, you need to keep a stretcher and ambulance ready, just in case," Gavaskar said while commenting on the match.

Gavaskar was recently involved in a passionate rant against Pant, when he got dismissed in Australia while playing a rash shot.

Rishabh has been celebrating like this for his hundreds in recent times. In an IPL 2025 match for LSG, he did the same after scoring a hundred against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He was also seen attempting that during the intrasquad match as well.

Apart from Pant, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal also racked up hundreds,as the trio joined an Elite List in Headingley. India, at lunch on Day 2, are 454 for 7.
