India captain Rohit Sharma has given a strong statement after the victory against England in the Ranchi Test on Monday (February 26).
India won the 4th Test in Ranchi by 5 wickets and thus have taken an unassailable 3-1 in leaf in the series. Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel stitched a superb partnership as the hosts accomplished the target of 192 runs after a stutter during the chase.

With the victory, India have consolidated in the WTC standings as well. It was another huge test for Rohit Sharma and his team. Amid the absences of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah was also rested as Akash Deep made his international debut.
The Indian team shone with some excellent performances by youngsters. Akash Deep picked up three crucial wickets on his debut in the first innings, while it was Dhruv Jurel who eclipsed the others with bat across both innings.
Jurel scored 90 in the first and then remained unbeaten for 39 in the second innings to take India home.
Citing those performances, India captain Rohit Sharma was asked about the hunger for Test cricket among Indian young players, and the India captain gave a befitting reply to all the players.
"Dekho, jinko Test Cricket ki bhook nahi hain, wo dekh ke hi pata chal jata hain. Un sabko khilane ka kya faida phir? (See, the one who doesn't have hunger to play Tests can be seen, what's the meaning of playing them)," Rohit Sharma reportedly said after the win.
Although it was a generalized reply, but fans across social media believe the Indian captain took a dig at some of the current Indian players for their lacklustre approach towards Test cricket.
Recently, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been lamented for not playing Ranji Trophy showing injury concerns. Along with that, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also been without the Test fray for a long time and generally is interested in playing limited-overs cricket.
And fans believe Rohit's comments were an indirect jab to the trio who have been alleged to concentrate more on T20 cricket and other formats.
'No man named Ishan Kishan was harmed in the statement,' a fan said. While another fan commented, 'Shots fired! I'm glad the captain is backing players who have the will and desire to play test cricket and not sulk away!'
