On a challenging surface, India, led by Rohit Sharma, found themselves in early trouble. Despite a relatively promising start, with the team at one point poised at 89 for three, a dramatic collapse saw them lose four wickets for just seven runs, bringing Pakistan right back into the game. The Indian innings eventually folded at 119 runs in 19 overs.

Rishabh Pant emerged as the highest scorer for India, crafting a gritty 42 off 31 deliveries. His innings was characterized by resilience and occasional aggression, as he attempted to anchor the innings amidst the falling wickets around him. The next best contribution came from Axar Patel, who managed 20 runs, but his effort was insufficient to steer India to a competitive total.

The Pakistani bowlers capitalized on India's frailties with clinical precision. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were the chief destroyers, each claiming three wickets. Their pace and accuracy were instrumental in dismantling the Indian batting order. Mohammad Amir also played a crucial role, picking up two key wickets to maintain the pressure on the Indian batsmen.

India's previous lowest total against Pakistan in a 20-over format was 133 for nine, recorded in Bengaluru in 2012. The New York match highlighted a recurring struggle against Pakistan's formidable bowling attack, emphasizing the need for strategic improvements in handling high-pressure situations.

Fan reactions were a mix of disappointment and hope. Many expressed their frustration over the team's inability to build partnerships and capitalize on the starts. The batting collapse drew comparisons to previous low-scoring encounters, adding to the narrative of India's ongoing challenge against Pakistan in the T20 format.

This performance now ranks alongside other low totals India has posted in the T20 World Cup history, such as their all-out for 79 against New Zealand in Nagpur (2016), 110 for 7 against New Zealand in Dubai (2021), 118 for 8 against South Africa in Nottingham (2009), and 130 for 4 against Sri Lanka in Mirpur (2014)
