India vs Afghanistan Playing 11, World Cup 2023: India will lock horns against Afghanistan in Match 9 of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Wednesday (October 11) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
India started off with a fantastic victory over Australia while Afghanistan suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. The Men in Blue would be keen to continue their winning spree, esepecially before meeting arch-rivals Pakistan on Saturday.

India will miss Shubman Gill as the batter hasn't yet recovered from Dengue. Gill also hasn't travelled with the Indian team to Delhi and is under medical observation in Chennai. All the other players are available and it looks like Rahul Dravid and the Indian think tank may go with the same team.
Ishan Kishan replaced Gill for the Australia match and it looks like Kishan will retain his place for the Afghanistan match.
For Afghanistan, they have a full squad available and it is to be seen if they opt to make some changes. The Afghans do have a decent squad but faltered in the last match against Bangladesh. They had a batting collapse in Dharamshala, and needs a much better performance to have any chance against India.
