Ahmedabad, March 11: India lost a set a Cheteshwar Pujara at the stroke of tea break before opener Shubman Gill slammed a sublime century as they reached 188 for two at tea on Day three of the fourth Test against Australia here on Saturday (March 11).
The hosts still trail the Steve Smith-led side by 292 runs as they had made 480 in their first innings.
Pujara - who was playing his trademark cricket innings - was poised for a big knock but his stay into the middle came to a premature end, by his standards.
The right-handed batter from Saurashtra misread the line of the ball from spinner Todd Murphy and the ball crashed onto the stumps. He used the DRS but in vain and India lost a wicket a couple of minutes before the end of the second session. Pujara's departure also brought an end to the gritty 113-run stand for the second wicket.

But Gill - who was looking in his elements from the start of the Indian innings - converted the start he got to his second Test hundred.
Gill (103 batting) and Kohli (0*) were in the middle at tea break. Earlier in the day, captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 35 off the last ball of the 21st over, ending a 74-run partnership between Gill and him.
The Indian captain was also looking in good touch but had a soft dismissal off Matthew Kuhnemann's delivery. He was caught at short-cover by Marnun Labuschagne and walked back disappointed.
