New Delhi, March 21: India captain Virat Kohli has given his teammate Ravindra Jadeja a new name after the latter became No. 1 Test bowler.
As the Indian cricket team boarded the flight to Dharamsala for the fourth and final Test match against Australia, Kohli took to Twitter to share an image with Jadeja.
Sharing the image with Jadeja Kohli rechristened Jadeja as 'bowling machine' and wrote,"Off to Dharamshala for the last one. With the bowling machine, @imjadeja."
Earlier, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had named Jadeja as 'Sir Ravindra Jadeja.'
Jadeja, who grabbed five for 124 and four for 52 in Ranchi, has gained 7 points after starting joint-first with Ashwin at 892 points to become number one bowler in Tests.
The left-arm spinner has become only the 3rd India player after Ashwin and Bishan Bedi to top the bowling charts on his own, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said Tuesday (March 21) in a media release.
Jadeja, who was given the nickname 'Rockstar' by Australian spin legend Shane Warne, has also closed in on a major landmark as his tally of 899 rating points puts him on the brink of becoming only the second India bowler after Ashwin to touch the 900-point mark.
Team India is headed for Dharamsala to play the fourth and final Test match against Australia, starting March 25.
