
Dambulla, Aug 18: Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli arrived in Dambulla ahead of their first ODI match against Sri Lanka.
Kohli-led India cricket team was welcomed at the hotel upon their arrival where they will lock horns with the hosts on Sunday (August 20) in the first ODI.
Kohli, accompanied by his predecessor MS Dhoni, and other teammates were welcomed in a traditional way.
The BCCI shared some images on its Twitter handle in which 28-year-old Kohli was seen sporting a hat. While Dhoni, in another image, was seen savouring ice-cream.
Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma were welcomed with a flower. Rising star Hardik Pandya was seen listening to the music while stepping down the team bus.
India made several changes to their ODI squad after registering a clean sweep in the Test series against hosts. Pacers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav along with spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested.
Dhoni joined the rest of the side after he was picked up for the limited overs series along with Jasprit Bumrah, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur, etc.
Team India under the watchful eyes of head coach Ravi Shastri has already started practicing for the limited overs series. The two sides will play 5 ODIs and a T20I before Men In Blue return.
The ODI series will be played between August 20 and September 3. The lone T20I game will be held on September 6.
