  • South Africa beat India by three wickets when the two sides met during the group stage of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup; indeed, the Proteas snapped a five-game losing streak against the Women in Blue in women’s ODIs with this win.
  • South Africa have beaten India in each of their last three games in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and are the only side the Women in Blue have faced and failed to beat since the start of the 2017 edition; only Australia (8) and New Zealand (5) have beaten India in more consecutive games in competition history.
  • India are set to play in their third ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final, having lost each of their previous two such games; no side has played three finals in World Cup history without winning a single game, with both England and New Zealand winning the tournament for the first time in their third respective finals appearance.
  • This is just the first time that an ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final will be contested by two sides who have previously not won the tournament; it is also the fifth time that the host nation has gone on to make the final (also 1988 – Australia, 1993 – England, 2000 – New Zealand, 2017 – England).
  • India have won each of their two completed women’s ODIs at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai; the only two other grounds at home where the Women in Blue have completed three or more games in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup history are Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna, winning once and losing twice at both grounds.
  • South Africa have won six of their previous seven women’s ODIs (L1) with their sole loss in this period coming against Australia on 25 October 2025 (by seven wickets); this will be the first time they will play an ODI fixture at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
  • South Africa have won 11 women’s ODIs in 2025, only in 2017 did they record more wins in the format (15); indeed, the six wins in this edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is their outright most in a single edition of this competition.
  • India’s top order (No.1-3) has averaged 58.6 runs per wicket in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, the highest for any team in a single World Cup edition since 2013; indeed, India’s top order batters have scored a combined three centuries in their last two completed games in the competition (Pratika Rawal – 122 and Smriti Madhana – 109 vs New Zealand; Jemimah Rodrigues – 127* vs Australia).
  • South African batters have struck 31 boundary sixes in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, the most by any team; while only one of these have come in the Powerplays (Overs 1-10), the 12 sixes during slog overs (Overs 41-50) in this edition is the most by any team.
  • No team has logged a better bowling strike rate during Powerplay 2 (Overs 11-40) than India (35.8) and South Africa (36.2) in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025; indeed, India have taken 38 wickets during this phase of the innings in the World Cup, the most by any team.
  • 74% of the balls bowled by South African bowlers in Powerplays (Overs 1-10) have been dot balls, the highest such rate in the ongoing edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup; the Proteas have also logged a dot ball rate of 49% in slog overs (Overs 41-50) with only Bangladesh (51%) recording a higher such rate in this phase of the game in the ongoing edition.
  • The duo of Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits have stitched together five century stands in 2025, the joint most for any wicket by a batting pair in women’s ODIs alongside Belinda Clark and Lisa Keightley in 2000 & Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal in 2025.
  • Deepti Sharma (17) needs three wickets to equal the record for most wickets by an India bowler in an ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup tournament (Shubhangi Kulkarni – 20 in 1982; Neetu David – 20 in 2005); Sharma has taken a wicket in all eight of her games in this World Cup and is the joint-highest wicket taker of the tournament with 17 wickets (also Annabel Sutherland).
  • Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa) has scored 470 runs in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, only Alyssa Healy (509 in 2022) and Rachel Haynes (497 in 2022) have scored more runs in a single edition of the World Cup.
  • Smriti Mandhana (India) has taken eight catches in the ongoing edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, the joint-most by any player (also Suzie Bates); it is also the most number of catches taken by a fielder (non-wicketkeeper) in a single edition alongside Lydia Greenway in 2009, Amy Satterthwaite in 2017 & Bates in 2025).
  • Marizanne Kapp has picked up 12 wickets in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, only Dane van Niekerk (15 wickets in 2017), Shabnim Ismail (14 in 2022) and Kapp herself (13 in 2017) have picked up more wickets among South African bowlers in a single edition of the World Cup.
  • Smriti Mandhana has scored 389 runs in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, only Mithali Raj (409 runs in 2017) among Indian batters has scored more in a single edition; Mandhana’s (1 century & 2 fifties) three innings of 50+ runs in this edition is also bettered only by Raj among batters to post such scores in a single edititon – four (1 century & 3 fifties in 2017).
  • Laura Wolvaardt has scored 28.6% of South Africa’s runs in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, the highest such rate by any batter in this edition; she has registered four knocks of 50 or more runs in this World Cup, only Debbie Hockley (5 in 1988), Elysse Perry (5 in 2017) and Wolvaardt herself (5 in 2022) have registered more such scores in a single edition.
  • India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (22) is two away from becoming the batter with the outright most boundary sixes in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup history, currently trailing only Sophie Devine (23); Harmanpreet has hit at least two sixes in all three of her knockout games in World Cup history including the semifinal against Australia.
  • Nadine de Klerk (South Africa) has struck a boundary every 4.8 balls in the ongoing edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, the joint best such rate for any batter to have played at least 50 balls (also Alyssa Healy); de Klerk has scored 71.6% of her 190 runs from boundaries, only Phoebe Litchfield (71.7%) has a better such rate among batters who have scored at least 50 runs this edition.
