IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Ltd (IndiaFirst Life), one of India's rapidly expanding private life businesses, is providing unwav support to its ex-employee and now a Kenyan International cricketer – Pushkar Sharma.
This India-born all-rounder is part of the Kenyan team participating in the Africa Regional Qualifier for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in Namibia. IndiaFirst Life's sponsorship is a significant boost for Pushkar, enabling him to pursue his dream of playing cricket at the world stage.

Sunder Natarajan, Chief Risk Officer, IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Ltd., voiced the company's pride in their sustained association with Pushkar Sharma. He stated, "We stand by Pushkar in his journey towards the ICC T20 World Cup qualification.
His talent, commitment, and the values he exemplifies, align perfectly with our dedication to fostering excellence. We believe in his potential to make significant contributions, both within and beyond the cricket field."
Pushkar expressed gratitude for the instrumental role IndiaFirst Life has played in his cricket journey. He mentioned, "Their sponsorship and mentorship have been my driving force. The values of IndiaFirst Life, reflected in their support during tough times, have been pivotal. I am devoted to making them proud in every aspect of the game. Qualifying for the ICC T20 World Cup with Kenya will be a testament to the belief invested in me by IndiaFirst Life."
Former captain of Mumbai U16s, Pushkar Sharma made his international debut in 2022 after moving to Kenya for better playing opportunities. His performances in the Kenyan domestic circuit have been exceptional, with the left-hand batter's selection for the World Cup qualifiers being facilitated by his impressive performance in the 2023 Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Super Division 50 Overs League. He scored 730 runs in just 14 innings, finishing as the league's second-best batter.
Kenya, pitted against Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, and hosts Namibia in the continental tournament, has until 30th November to secure a place in the world event.
Only two teams from the seven participating in the qualifiers will get a chance to play in the World Cup scheduled between 4 and 30 June 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. With players like Pushkar Sharma, backed by strong support from organizations like IndiaFirst Life, Kenya's dream of playing in the World Cup looks promising.
