IPL 2023 Schedule: Full Time Table, Venues, When and Where to Watch Indian Premier League 16

Mumbai, Feb 17: The BCCI on Friday (February 17) unveiled the schedule for the highly-anticipated Indian Premier League 2023 schedule. The IPL 2023 will begin on March 31.

The 16th edition of the tournament will start soon after the conclusion of the maiden Women's Premier League (WPL) season which concludes on March 26.

The final of the tournament will be held in Ahmedabad on May 28 (Sunday).

IPL 2023 Opening Game

Defending champions Gujarat Titans taking on Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 tournament opener. The opening match of the IPL 2023 will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31. Ahmedabad is the home ground of the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans and they'll be looking to start their title defence with a win over four-time champions.

IPL 16 Format

The cash-rich league which returns in the home and away format from IPL 2023 will be played across 12 venues. All 10 teams will play home games in their respective cities on their home grounds.

IPL 2023 League Stage

The league stage of the tournament, which will see a total of 70 matches, will conclude on May 21. May 21 - which is going to be the last day of the league stage - will see a doubleheader. Mumbai Indias will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai while Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru on the same day in the second match of the evening.

IPL 2023 Doubleheaders

There have been a total of 18 double headers planned by the BCCI and broadcasters in the IPL 2023.

The first doubleheader of the tournament will be held on April 1 (Saturday) when Punjab Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali while Lucknow Super Giants face Delhi Capitals in Lucknow. It will be LSG's first home game.

The next day, April 2, which happens to be a Sunday, will also witness doubleheaders. Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Rajasthan Royals at home in the first match while Royal Challengers Bangalore will host Mumbai Indians at home in the evening game.

IPL 2023 Groups

The 10 teams have been divided into two groups for the season and their league fixtures have been planned accordingly.

Group A: Mumbai Indians, KKR, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and LSG

Group B: Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, RCB, and Gujarat Titans
