At IPL 2015, captains Kohli and Gambhir faced off twice and the former's team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had the better of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on both occasions.
On Saturday (May 2), in Bengaluru, RCB defeated KKR by 7 wickets after the clash was reduced to 10-over per side due to heavy rain. Earlier in the tournament, RCB in Eden Gardens by 3 wickets.
Kohli, who is never known to hide his emotions, was pumped up as Mandeep Singh's heroics delivered a win for RCB on their home ground. Mandeep hit consecutive sixes off Andre Russell in the final over for a thrilling victory.
And in the aftermath of victory, Kohli and Gambhir appeared to have had an argument on the ground. Though it was not as serious as in 2013 when Rajat Bhatia had to separate the clashing duo, there was ample time for media photographers to capture the moment.
For this year, Kohli and Gambhir will not be meeting again in IPL in the league stage. However, there is a possibility that they could battle it out against each other in the Playoffs.
The Kohli-Gambhir contest is far from over. One wonders what is the real problem between the two Delhi mates?
