Bengaluru, April 19: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be without their opening batsman Chris Gayle for at least 2 matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2016 (IPL 9). The West Indian has flown back home, to Jamaica, to be with his partner Natasha Berridge, who is expecting their first child.

Gayle will miss tomorrow's (April 20) away game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium and also the next clash against Rising Pune Supergiants in Pune on April 22 (Friday). RCB face Gujarat Lions on Sunday (April 24) in Rajkot.
On Monday (April 19), an RCB official confirmed to OneIndia that Gayle will not play tomorrow's game and added he would be not available for next game as well.
Yesterday, the West Indian had tweeted a picture of himself onboard an aircraft, with the caption, "I'm on my way, Baby".
In the 2 games so far in IPL 2016, Gayle has failed to make a big impact with the bat. He was out for just 1 run against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and was dimissed for a 3-ball duck by captain Zaheer Khan against Delhi Daredevils (DD). RCB defeated SRH but lost to DD.
Commenting on Gayle's lack of runs, Kohli had said on Sunday (April 17) after the contest against DD, "I am sure he will come good at some stage of the tournament. Probably, he may get hundred for us when it's required the most. I am not too worried about Gayle, because the other guys are stepping up nicely. Cricket is all about grabbing the opportunity, if some others fail."
