Bengaluru, Jan 29: The Players Auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 has finally come to an end and the auction once again sprang up a few big surprises when several big names were went unsold.

Out of 578 names, only 169 cricketers managed to attract the bids in their favour as the franchises splurged a whopping sum of Rs 4,31,70,00,000 (Rupees Four Hundred Thirty-One Crore, Seventy Lac, approximately USD 67.7 million) for these players.

A total of 409 players went unsold in this year's IPL Auction, some of them were the marquee players whose base prices were as high as Rs 2 crores.

Some names that went unnoticed in this year's IPL Auction were England Test skipper Joe Root, ODI skipper Eoin Morgan, South Africa batting legend Hashim Amla, Sri Lanka veteran speedster Lasith Malinga, etc.
