Dubai, October 7: Chennai Super Kings' star pacer Deepak Chahar had a forgettable outing with the ball in his team's last league game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Thursday (October 7) but he had a memory of a life outside the field.
Soon after the match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings got over, which CSK lost by six wickets, the right-arm pacer went into the stands and proposed to his girlfriend Jaya Bharadwaj.
In a romantic fashion and in front of thousands of spectators and millions watching the moment unfold live on their television and mobile phone screens, the Rajasthan quick went on his knees to ask his lady love to marry him. The cricketer came prepared as he had a ring in his hands. The girl initially couldn't believe her eyes and later said yes.
The couple were caught on camera hugging each other and later posed towards the fans and cameras.
"Picture says it all. Need all your blessings #taken" wrote Deepak on his social media handle while announcing his engagement.

Ahead of his team's last league match, Chahar spoke about the changes he made to his style after last season.
"I took the experience from last year when we played in the UAE. I knew what line and length I had to bowl. There is some help for the bowlers on this Dubai pitch compared to last year. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been slower surfaces. So if you bowl in the right areas, you will get the return. I worked on my bowling during the offseason," Chahar said.
The right-arm quick had a forgettable outing with the bowl as he returned with unimpressive figures of 4-0-48-1. He was taken to the cleaners by Punjab Kings' captain KL Rahul - who scored an unbeaten 98. Chahar has had an ordinary second phase in the IPL 2021 even as CSK made it to the playoff. They will face Delhi Capitals in the qualifier one.
