The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, established by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) with the support of the state government in 2003 and the first match played in 2005, is situated in the eastern suburb of Uppal, Hyderabad.
The venue, famously known as Hyderabad Cricket Stadium, has served as home venues to Hyderabad state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2008, when Indian Premier League (IPL) started as a home to the Hyderabad-based franchises - Deccan Chargers and now Sunrisers Hyderabad.

And for the first time since 2019, SRH will return to their home as BCCI has announced the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as one of the venues along with eleven other stadiums in 11 cities across the country for IPL 2023.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host 7 of SRH's home league stage matches. Sunrisers will play their first home match of 2023 against inaugural champions and last season's runner up Rajasthan Royals in the opening weekend on Sunday (April 2).
