The Virat Kohli-Gautam Gambhir altercation in the IPL 2023 match on Monday was an unfortunate incident. The pair clashed after the match and had a verbal spat between them.
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, both hail from Delhi and an official from Lucknow Super Giants says it is just a 'clash of Ego' between the two which resulted the incident.

Kohli and Gambhir clashed after RCB had won by 18 runs. Gambhir was bemused by Kohli's constant abuse to LSG player Naveen-ul-Haq during the game and gave the latter a mouthful of a moral lesson.
Kohli has a tendency of failing to control his emotions which took place on Monday, and things just kept on building after that. First Kohli had an altercation with the Afghan player after the handshake, and then hell broke loose when Gautam Gambhir got involved in it.
But a Lucknow Super Giants official played down the graveness of the issue and says the pair clashed just because of their gigantic ego, and also confirmed the LSG owners had a talk with both players after the incident.
"It was simply an ego clash between the two greats of Indian cricket. There was nothing serious. It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. It happens in such a high-tension game," an LSG official, preferring anonymity, told the Hindustan Times.
"There was no bad blood after the presentation. The LSG bosses did hold a meeting of the players and officials at the ground after the match," he added.
Gambhir and Kohli had previously found themselves at odds a decade ago in the IPL when the former was the captain of KKR, while Kohli back then used to lead RCB.
LSG won a thriller at the Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier this season, and Gambhir had an emotional outburst after the victory, where he kind of shushed the crowd in a passionate way. And experts believe that played a part in Monday's spat.
