A heated altercation between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir has been the talk of the IPL in the last few days or so. The RCB player found himself at the centre of attraction for all the wrong reasons, yet again.
Kohli involved himself in a heated argument with Ex-India player Gautam Gambhir, who currently is the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, after RCB's win over LSG last Monday (May 1).

The entire nation saw their fight and may articles have been written, and dissected since then. And the latest reports are arriving that Kohli has written a message to the BCCI officials explaining the situation what transpired in Lucknow after the match.
It is being reported by Dainik Jagran that the former RCB captain has explained his innocence in the whole matter, and also shown is disgruntlement with the punishment. Both Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir was slammed with a 100 % fine of match fee, which means Kohli will lose around INR 1.25 crore.
Although the player won't bore the fine, as RCB have a policy of not deducting salaries for on-field punishments, it means the franchise will have to pay the compensation.
The match referees and IPL umpires agreed upon the fine for breaching the IPL Code of Coduct's Article 2.21 which deals with "all types of conduct that bring the game into disrepute." As it was a Level 2 offence, bit Gambhir and Kohli were given a fine of their entire match fee.

But Kohli asserted in his write-up that he didn't do anything grave which will attract the volume of the punishment that he received.
It is unlikely that his fine will be revoked. The eyewitnesses in the game confirmed Kohli was hostile towards LSG players Navven-ul-Haq and Kyle Mayers during the match. Amit Mishra had to complain to the umpires about Kohli's constant abusing to the Afghan player, which was kind of the starting point of the whole fracas at the Ekana Stadium.
