Earlier in the day, riding upon phenomenal batting performance from their top-order Sunrisers posted the third 250-plus total in the competition. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave their team a brisk start as they helped SRH post a mammoth 125 runs in the first powerplay.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, during the post-match presentation, conceded that the game slipped from their hands after Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma shared a mammoth 131-run stand inside 7 overs. Kuldeep Yadav returned with a four-for but other bowlers failed to put a brake on the flow of runs.

Reddy takes the wicket and Delhi Capitals have been bundled out for 199, SRH win by a massive 68-run margin and pocketed 2 vital points. They have won their 5th game and have 10 points to be perched at the second position in the points table. DC have hit the rock bottom with this loss, along with RCB.
Wicket, 0, Wicket, Wicket! T Natarajan removes Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav in four deliveries and Delhi Capitals are 199/9 in 18.4 overs. Wicket! T Natarajan ends Lalit Yadav's innings for 7 and Delhi Capitals are six down in the big run chase.
DC - 166/6 in 15 overs, target - 267

SRH captain Pat Cummins: The way the boys have been batting, we know teams are going to come hard at us. Same batting lineup, we'll have a look at the bowling a little later on.
Rishabh Pant: We're going to bowl first. Wicket looks pretty good, we would like to chase because we are playing more as a batting unit. We have more batters. Maybe there will be dew. The only thing we said is "stay in the contest". Yes, they've been playing really good cricket but you can't let them get away with it. Initially, Delhi struggled with just one win in their first five matches. However, they bounced back, clinching two consecutive victories and currently sit sixth in the standings.
Yet, maintaining this momentum won't be easy, considering Sunrisers Hyderabad's impressive form, winning their last three matches and boasting one of the strongest batting lineups this season. They recently set the record for the highest-ever IPL total against MI, only to surpass it shortly after against RCB.
In their head-to-head encounters, SRH holds a slight advantage with 12 wins compared to Delhi's 11. However, in their last six meetings, DC has emerged victorious in five.
