Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have charged into the IPL 2024 final with a commanding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) triumphed over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Eliminator, setting the stage for a high-stakes Qualifier 2 against SRH on May 24.
The decisive clash between RR and SRH at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai promised intense action as both teams, each having lifted the IPL trophy once, aimed to secure a spot in the grand finale. SRH defeated RR in Qualifier 2 to set up a summit clash with KKR on May 26 at the same venue, vying for their second IPL title.

Ahead of this highly anticipated match, myKhel spoke with former England cricketer Graeme Swann to get his thoughts on the finalists and his prediction for the IPL 2024 champion.
Swann, a seasoned Northamptonshire cricketer, believes KKR are the team to beat this season and backed the Shreyas Iyer-led side to lift the glory. "I think at the moment, KKR. No one is playing the kind of cricket they are playing, and they are looking like a very, very hard team to beat. So, I think they'll be the winners," he stated confidently.
Discussing KKR's strengths, Swann highlighted their formidable form. "An ideal final for me would be between Rajasthan and Kolkata, but Sunrisers are playing some very good cricket. They were cut down by a good team (KKR) in Qualifier 1 the other night. I think it will all boil down to how they bounce back from that defeat at the hands of KKR because it was a heavy defeat. And Royals coming on the back of a good win against RCB sets up an intriguing contest."
Former Australia pace legend Brett Lee also seconded with Swann's observation and he too expects the titular clash between SRH and KKR. Lee - who has been a part of KKR in the past - said, "I can't take my focus away from the IPL 2024 final as of now. I am expecting a final between KKR and SRH on May 26 at Chepauk."
Swann also addressed the absence of RR's star opener, Jos Buttler, in Qualifier 2. "Without a doubt, if you remove a player as good as Buttler from the team, you're going to struggle. You're not going to be as strong. But they've got players stepping up in his stead who are doing well. That victory against RCB the other night shows they are still not a team to be messed with."
